Ophelia's Pose by LonnyClouser Ophelia's Pose by LonnyClouser
We were playing around with the camera and Ophelia wanted to pose - this was the best pose out of the bunch!  I love this girl so much ... I think that's evident by the number of times I've drawn her.  I feel like I could drown in her eyes ...

Used vellum for this drawing and I really found it difficult to erase - it definitely doesn't respond the same way the smooth does.

Details:

Strathmore Bristol Vellum (drawing, excluding large blank area on the left, 5" x 5")
Mechanical, 2H, HB, B, 2B
Tissues, tortillion
Erasers, kneaded and vinyl
Time ~ 16 hours

Don't give up on vellum.... it takes a moment or two to get used to. :D

Thank you so much!  I may try it again or I may give it to my grand kids for their masterpieces!  :D

Very nice, has the feel of a watercolour about it to me which i like a lot. Yes i've been using that paper too and it isn't the least bit cooperative about erasing at all which i've just discovered as well.

Thank you very much!!  I don't think I'll be using it again - the grandkids have new paper to draw on!!  :D

Lucky lucky grandkids .. i'm enjoying the challenge of trying to get around this little problem so i'll stick with it a little longer i think :D I've been told that it is a great surface for coloured pencils though but of course i haven't tried any of that.

Hmmm ... I can see that for coloured pencils, lots of tooth to grab the color.
