This is Ducky - my sister's Orange Tabby.
When she asked me to draw him, I was very hesitant to attempt it in color pencil, but I really wanted to try it in color since he is so pretty. It went much more smoothly than I thought it would. Much smoother than people. The colors in the photograph are way skewed - taking pictures of colored pencil drawings is harder, if that's possible, than taking pictures of graphite drawings!! And it lost not only color, but also subtle details (hairs) that make it look much different in person.
It's a small drawing, 5" x 7", Prismacolor pencils on gray Strathmore. Worked on it for 2 1/2 days and have to get it in the mail tomorrow so she has it to open for Christmas.
EDIT: I sent my photograph to my scraps and then I took
advice and scanned my drawing. The details came out much clearer and the colors are more true to the original. I didn't do any editing except cropping. Thank you!
